Majority want fixed-rate mortgage

According to a poll given out by Fairinvestment.co.uk, majority of the people who answer the poll chooses to have a fixed-rate Mortgage.

23 percent of the people prefer tracker mortgages, 9 percent want a discounted option, 8 percent favored a variable-rate alternative, and only 3 percent optitng for a stepped deal.

I guess public are obviously careful on exposing themselves to the economy at large. People are now thinking about their future and what they can get out of their investments.

A certain chancellor Alistair Darling called for lenders to make long-term fixed-rate mortgages more widely available, earlier this month.
